I’ve been thinking about why AI feels so amazing to some people, while others look at it and say, “I don’t really get what the big deal is.”
I think a lot of it comes down to timing.
For some people, AI showed up at the exact moment they were already trying to write, build, code, organize ideas, or solve problems in a different way. For those people, it feels like the missing tool finally arrived. For others, if it has not yet touched a real pain point in their life or work, it can feel like a toy, a search engine, or just another overhyped technology.
But to me, what has really been invented is something much deeper: the ultimate validator.
Not validator in the sense that it simply tells you that you are right. More like a thinking partner that helps you test an idea, sharpen it, challenge it, explain it, and turn it into something useful. That changes writing. It changes software. It changes the way we approach problems.
I remember being told when I was younger, 99% of the people in this world have good idea’s but only 1% does something about it. In the past the question was how? .. that was always the puzzle, that had to be answered in order to validate the idea, your intution, that gut feeling and now, I feel it can be answered, if your willing to ask the question and do something about it.
The big shift is not just that AI can produce answers. It is that it helps us think through the problem itself.
And I think the really interesting stuff is still ahead of us. We have spent decades building ecosystems: software systems, business processes, education systems, scientific tools, workflows, and ways of communicating. Instead of racing to the start and trying to rebuild everything from scratch, maybe the real opportunity is to go deeper into what already exists and start filling the gaps with new insight.

The paper explores how a huge set of elementary mathematical functions may be generated from a single operator. Whether or not every detail ends up being practically important, the larger idea is fascinating: sometimes progress comes not from adding more complexity, but from discovering the deeper simplicity underneath what we already thought we understood.
That is what AI feels like to me right now.
It is not just a new app. It is a new layer of thinking. A new way to validate ideas. A new way to write software. A new way to explore problems. And maybe most importantly, a new way to see the gaps in the systems we have been nurturing for decades, which we were not able to see or just too proud to even question.
So maybe the question is not, “Why is AI amazing?”
Maybe the better question is, “Where in my life or work am I finally ready for a tool that can help me think better?”
Because once it meets you at the right moment, it stops feeling like hype.
It starts feeling like leverage.
